It just might be you…
Hear me out.
I have had every skin problem I feel under the sun. I went crazy one Winter purchasing all the right cleansers and creams and nothing… Nothing was working and I thought OMG these products suck and their so pricy what am I going to do bluh, bluh, bluh lol. And then a light came on; are the products even absorbing into my skin?… is it me?
I realized I had not had a deep clean or reset in so long!
It’s just like scalp build-up. The same thing can happen to your skin.
So, to get your products working again you can do a treatment facial yourself; which I will go over later in this post, or go to a professional and let them do the work.
- Note: if you are not a professional you will not have access to the higher grade or medical grade products to do a professional cleans, but you can do a cleans at home nonetheless.
The best and fastest way to solve this issue is to go to a professional esthetician for a (essentially) deep-cleaning facial. These facials always include an ENZYME mask.
Ask for a:
- Clogged pore facial, Clarifying facial, Exfoliating facial, Acen facial or Microdermabrasion facial.
These are all just names but they all should come with an enzyme mask and other tools and products for a deep clean depending on the results you are looking for. But for sure if your products are just sitting on top of your skin, any one of these facials will work.
What is an Enzyme mask and why is it important?
An enzyme mask can offer so many benefits to your skin like: deep pore-clean, exfoliation, skin tone & brightening, hydration, and last be not least enhanced product absorption. Using an enzyme is the gental-est way to exfoliate before moving on to more intense treatments like chemical peels. The order goes: physical exfoliate, enzyme, chemical peel.
How to do a deep pore cleans at home.
- Cleanse with a clarifying cleanser
- Cleanse with gentle cleaners
- Optional: apply the “Aztec Healing Calm” mixture (if you do not know what this is refer to my post that is all about Aztec healing clay).
- Raise the mask off thoroughly.
- Apply your enzyme for 10 minutes. For a deeper activation of the product set under steam for for however long you can with your enzyme within those 10 minutes.
- Wipe the enzyme off with a warm towel dipped in warm water.
- Apply a calming, cooling, or soothing face mask. My favorite is an Alo mask.
- Wipe off with a warm towel
- Apply your essence, serum, and moisturizer in that order.
You are good to go after this. If not like I mentioned before it is always good to have a consult with your local esti!
