It just might be you…
Hear me out.
I have had every skin problem I can think of. I went crazy one Winter purchasing all the right cleansers and creams and nothing… Nothing was working, and I thought, OMG, these products suck and they’re so pricey—what am I going to do, bluh, bluh, bluh lol. And then a light came on; are the products even absorbing into my skin?… is it me?
I realized I had not had a deep clean or reset in so long!
It’s just like scalp build-up. The same thing can happen to your skin.
So, to get your products working again, you need a treatment facial. Lucky for you, I know how it’s done, or go to a professional and let them do the work 🙂
- Note: if you are not a professional, you will not have access to higher-grade or medical-grade products for a professional clean, but you can still do a clean at home.
The best and fastest way to solve this issue is to see a professional esthetician for an intensive deep-cleaning facial. These facials always include an ENZYME mask.
Ask for a:
- Clogged pore facial, Clarifying facial, Exfoliating facial, Acen facial, or Microdermabrasion facial.
These are all clarifying facials that should include an enzyme mask, additional tools, and products for a deep clean. But for sure, if your products are sitting on your skin, any of these facials will work.
What is an Enzyme mask and why is it important?

An enzyme mask can offer many benefits for your skin, such as deep pore cleansing, exfoliation, skin tone & brightening, hydration, and, last but not least, enhanced product absorption. Using an enzyme is the gentlest way to exfoliate before moving on to more intense treatments, such as chemical peels. The order goes: physical exfoliate, enzyme, chemical peel.
How to do a deep pore cleanse at home.

- Cleanse with a clarifying cleanser (usually clear)
- Cleanse with gentle cleaners (usually creamy or white)
- Optional: apply a cream exfoliator and cleanser for 2 minutes.
- Rinse the exfoliator off thoroughly.
- Apply your enzyme for 10 minutes. For deeper activation of the product, set it under steam for 10 minutes, or as long as you can, with your enzyme on.
- Wipe the enzyme off with a warm, damp towel.
- Apply a cooling or soothing face mask. My favorite is a Strawberry or aloe vera mask.
- Wipe off with a warm towel
- Apply your essence, serum, and moisturizer in that order.
All done! Your skin should feel clean, soft, and look glossy!
Hope this was helpful! Let me know how you feel about doing a professional facial at home now.
