Okay, so water is not just water anymore.

I personally drink Spring or Distilled water. But before I tell you why, let’s have a quick sidebar moment of all the different water choices today.
So, these are the most common types of water,
- Purified water
- Spring water/Glacier water
- Alkaline water
- Mineral water
- Flavored water
- Infused water
- Sparkling water
- Distilled water
- Tap water
- Well water
Purified Water
Purified water is usually tap or groundwater that has been mechanically filtered or processed, removing impurities such as bacteria, making it safe to use. Saying this with purified water, you miss out on natural minerals like fluoride because the water has been processed and stripped.
Some companies try to add these minerals back, but not without adding other things for taste, like sodium.
Tap Water
Tap water is just that: from your tap. It flows from pipes in restrooms, kitchen sinks, toilets, etc. It is considered safe to drink, but most people invest in an at-home filter system when they want to consume or cook with tap water.
I would highly recommend investing in a filter system, as tap water can contain unwanted substances such as aluminum, sediment, rust, pesticides, fungi, and more.
Mineral Water
Mineral water is supposed to come from a mineral spring; however, with today’s clever marketing tactics, the minerals in a bottle labeled “mineral water” could have been man-made, added during production, as they use words like “infused and added”.
Nonetheless, mineral water usually contains minerals like sulfur, magnesium, calcium & zinc, which are great for the body, whether they are naturally present or added later.
Spring/Glacier Water
Spring water is drawn from a spring, slightly filtered (some), and bottled for consumption. It contains all the original minerals from the natural spring or glacier it came from.
Your body needs as much natural, unprocessed drinking water and food as possible. Spring water is one of the greatest options for this reason.
One concern would be the water labeled “spring water” that comes in a plastic jug, and the high price tag for the glass-bottled jars.
Distilled Water
Distilled water is essentially boiled water; then the steam is collected and bottled. There are no natural or man-made minerals in distilled water.
Distilled water is very safe to drink; however, drinking only distilled water could cause your body to pull minerals from other tissues, which is not ideal. I drink it when I am out of spring water because it is purer than purified water.
I also have to use it for my plants, defusers, cooking water, and other household things.
Alkaline Water
Alkaline water has a high PH level of 8 or 9. Pure water is slightly less than this, so the idea is that drinking alkaline water counteracts acidity, slows aging, and helps reduce unwanted mutating cells in the body.
Well Water
Well water comes directly from a well. It is untreated water. For drinking purposes, you can test the well water regularly instead of filtering it right away if you would like to keep the nutrients it could provide.
Flavored Water
Flavored water is purified water that has been sweetened with artificial or natural sweeteners for taste. This can help you drink large amounts of water because of the added flavors; however, people with diabetes or similar conditions may react negatively to this type of water.
Infused Water
Infused water is water that has been steeped with fruits, herbs & even vegetables, creating a more flavorful water experience.
Sparkling Water
Sparkling water is infused with carbon dioxide gas under pressure to create the bubbly effect. It is also referred to as carbonated water.
This type of water could be an excellent option for people who are trying to stop drinking sodas, as it gives the same feel as a soda but with much less sugar, dyes, and artificial flavor, if any.
Sparkling water also provides minimal mineral benefits.
What I drink
Now, for me, I stick to Spring and Distilled water. I like getting my minerals from the source, and making infused water with my spring or distilled water enhances the benefits.
Spring water is not filtered down to nothing, full of harsh chemicals, or just not drinkable. It is the type of water we are supposed to be getting, unbothered, non-toxic, straight from the earth, mountain water. Now, I also use distilled water because I make my own Alkaline water from distilled water. This way, I know precisely how much PH is going into my water. You can make your own Alkaline water at home with the right machine. They are a little pricey, but it is worth every penny you invest.
