Okay, so water is not just water anymore
I know crazy lol
I personally drink Spring or Distilled water. But before I tell you why; let’s have a quick sidebar moment of all the different water choices today.
So, these are the most known types of water,
- Purified water
- Spring water/Glacier water
- Alkaline water
- Mineral water
- Flavored water
- Infused water
- Sparkling water
- Distilled water
- Tap water
- Well water
Purified Water
Purified water is usually tap or groundwater that has been mechanically filtered or processed removing substances like bacteria, so it is safe to use. Saying this with purified water you miss out on natural minerals like fluoride because the water has been processed and striped. Some companies try to add these minerals back but not without adding other things for taste like sodium.
Tap Water
Tap water is just that; from your tap. It flows from pipes in restrooms, kitchen sinks, toilets, etc… It is said to be safe to drink but most people invest in an at-home filter system when wanting to consume tap water. I would highly recommend investing in a filter system seeing that tap water could contain unwanted substances like aluminum, residue, rust, pesticides, fungi, and more.
Mineral Water
Mineral water is supposed to be coming from a mineral spring however with today’s clever marketing tactics the minerals in a bottle of water labeled “mineral water” could have been added to the water in the production process as they use words like “infused and added”. Nonetheless mineral water usually includes minerals like sulfur, magnesium, calcium & zinc which are great for the body whether it was naturally harvested or added in later.
Spring/Glacier Water
Spring water is not filtered and bottled from a spring which means it will contain all of the original minerals from the natural spring or glaciers it came from. Your body needs as many natural or unprocessed foods and water as possible. Spring water is a great option for this reason. One concern would be the none processing of the water for some and expensive price tag.
Distilled Water
Distilled water is essentially boiled water; then the steam is collected and bottled up. There are no natural or man-made minerals in distilled water. Distilled water is very safe to drink however only consuming distilled water could possibly cause your body to pull minerals from other parts of your body.
Alkaline Water
Alkaline water has a high PH level of 8 or 9. Pure water is slightly less than this, so the idea is drinking alkaline water counteracts acidity, slows aging, and helps reduce unwanted mutating cells in the body.
Well Water
Well water comes straight from a well in the ground. It is untreated water. For drinking purposes, you can test the well water regularly instead of filtering it right away if you would like to keep the nutrients it could provide.
Flavored Water
Flavored water is water that has been purified and sweetened with artificial or natural sweeteners and artificial or natural flavors for taste. This can help you drink large amounts of water because of the added flavors, however people with diabetes or the like could react negatively to this type of water.
Infused Water
Infused water is fruits, herds & even vegetables added to water creating a heightened tasting water experience.
Sparkling Water
Sparkling water is infused with carbon dioxide gas while under pressure to give that bubbly effect. It is also referred to as carbonated water. This type of water could be a great option for people who are trying to stop drinking sodas as it gives that same feel as a soda, but with just a lot less sugar if any. Sparkling water also gives a very small amount of mineral benefits.
Now, for me, I stick to Spring and Distilled water. I like getting my minerals from the source and this is enhanced when I make infused water. Spring water is not filtered down to nothing or full of harsh chemicals or just not drinkable. It is the type of water we are supposed to be getting, unbothered, non toxic, straight from the earth, mountain water. Now, I also use distilled water because I make my own Alkaline water from distilled water. This way I know exactly what level my PH consumption is and what’s in my water. You can make your own Alkaline water at home with the right machine. They are a little pricey but it is worth every penny you invest.
