I would highly recommend adopting SUNDAY as your prep and pamper day, and this is why…
Out of all the days of the week, to me, Sunday always feels the calmest. No matter what’s going on. It feels like a great day that you don’t want to end, and so the routine was born. I have a lot of tips, but for Sunday, these are the things I do routinely without fail, and they work for a full-time entrepreneur and blogger’s
First things first …
1. Brian Dump
So, you are going to sit down and grab a notepad and write down everything you need to do, any lists you have circling in your head, random things you want to remember for later, and even thoughts about the day. This clears space in your mind to think clearly. It also shows you on paper what all you need to do. You can rewrite and organize everything from this list. Going from “urgent” to “that can wait till tomorrow”.
2. Plan Your Week
This can involve a weekly, monthly, or a combination of both. A simple notebook works as well. You will need to sit down and write out a plan for the week. Starting on SUNDAY. Start with your to-dos for Sunday and any urgent tasks that need to be done ASAP. Then do this for each day till you get to Saturday.
3. Meal. Plan. Prep
Here, you want first to organize your grocery list.
– Organize by travel time (closes store to your home 1st and so on)
– Organize by store
– Organize by department flow (for a quick shopping trip)
Then make a sidebar or new list. Here you will write the names of the dishes you are cooking and the ingredients in order of cooking instructions. DON’T FREAK OUT. I promise you, you will get the hang of it soon enough, and it will be like second nature. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
4. Grab Take-Out; It’s Sunday
I don’t know about you, but personally, I can’t meal prep on an empty stomach! My meal prep would not last the night. So, grab some lunch and or dinner while you’re out. Trust me.
5. Do The Laundry
Now I can’t tell you what detergent to use, but we do love some ALL over here! You can also add in some Unstoppables for that amazing fresh scent. If you’re allergic, plain baking soda works great for everyone, and it also removes stubborn scents and stains from clothes the best.
Laundry List
- Cloths
- Delicates
- Sheets
- Pillowcases
- Rugs or mats from the bathroom
6. Tidying up
Here is where you should tidy up, BUT not deep clean! That will be done on another day in the month, but never on Sundays. That would take all day! And it’s SUNDAY. Self-care is the main priority.
Here is a complete Tidy-up checklist
- Load dishwasher
- Clean counters
- Clean off countertop appliances
- Organize the fridge
- Sweep & Swiffer
- Tidy up the living room
- Wipe down bathroom counters and fixtures
- Sanitize handles
- Tidy up the bedroom
- Light a candle afterward
7. Pamper Routine
Ok! Now we’re at the good stuff.
A quality pamper routine includes skin care, self-maintenance services, candles, a cozy blanket, fav fuzzy socks or sleepers, your fav show or movie playing, a colorful snack, a good book & your journal.
This pamper routine is designed to help you find peace, happiness, love, joy, genuine laughter, and re-center yourself. Now let’s get to the pampering.
- Exercise
I know! I know! But hear me out! Exercising helps you relax. Just a quick 10 – 20 minute yoga or leg workout is all you need to start an excellent pamper routine. - Relaxing bath
This will include Epson salts, pH balance-friendly bubble bath, candles, a candle lighter, a bathtub caddy, a phone (optional), wine, an ocean-scented skin conditioner, one large towel & body oil - Skincare routine
Grab your skincare and let’s get glowing, girly. As an esthetician, I recommend you apply your products in this order for the best results.
– Gentle creamy cleanser
– Treatment cleaner
– Exfoliating scrub
– Gel mask
– Essence
– Brightening serum
– Hydrating moisturizer - Foot mask
So, let’s move on to the feet! They are just as essential and need love, too. A hydrating foot mask on hand would be super nice. You can find them at places like T.J. Maxx for cheap. Leave on for 5 – 10 minutes and then apply your vitamin E body oil to your feet and massage it in. - Watch a movie – Comedy or DocU-series
You either want to laugh or learn something new. Either one is an excellent option for a pamper day - Clean up phone photos
While watching your show, this would be a great time, if you are not completely locked in lol, to clean out and get rid of old photos in your phone. We all have that selfie we took a million times and only one pic came out right… to us anyway lol. So, delete, delete, delete! - Journal for 4 minutes
Please take a few minutes and write down how you’re feeling today, how you expect the next week to go, and what you are daydreaming about (like I tend to do daily). Write that down too. - Recharge
So, here you need to place all of your electronics on the charger and walk away. Online, anything is off-limits for the rest of the day. - Relax and do nothing
Everything is done, you’re relaxed, and you’re feeling great, so it’s just natural that you take this time to really do whatever you want. By the way, you should be doing the most chill thing possible.
