The Healthy Girl’s Grocery List
Important Rules When Shopping For Food That Does Not Include CHEMICALS aka – Organic
- Meat – get your red meat, steak, etc… from a butcher,
- Seafood – get your seafood from an ethical grocery store, catch it yourself, or a distributor near a seaport.
- Veggies – get from a farmers market, local farmers, or any grocery store as long as the food label starts with the #9, 8, or 7. The #9 symbol represents the highest standard of organic quality you can find in stores. Most produce barcodes have low numbers nowadays like #4, #3, and #2. So, if it’s organic it should start with a high number but ALWAYS check for yourself.
- Fruit – Same thing. Get from a farmers market, local farmers, or any grocery store as long as the food barcode label starts with #9, #8, or #7. The #9 symbol represents the highest standard of organic quality you can find in stores.
- Grains – Read the ingredients list for no GMO and gluten mainly. You also can make sure the grain is not white, bleached, and enriched. You do not want any of those items.
- Nuts – From ethical grocery stores.
- Bread – Make your own, ethical bakeries or read the ingredients at any grocery store to make sure the bread is not bleached, enriched, GMO, and does not contain gluten.
- Dairy – You might have to switch to daily free when you are ready but low amounts of it if you are eating dairy.
